Instagram history

 Here's a brief history of Instagram:


2010:


- Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger founded Instagram in San Francisco, California.

- Initially called Burbn, a location-based app that allowed users to share photos, as well as make plans and meet up with friends.


2011:


- Systrom and Krieger decided to focus solely on photo-sharing and rebranded the app as Instagram.

- Instagram launched on October 6, 2011, with an iPhone app.


2012:


- Instagram raised $50 million in funding from investors.

- Facebook acquired Instagram for $1 billion in April 2012.

- Instagram launched an Android app in April 2012.


2013:


- Instagram introduced video sharing in June 2013.

- Web profiles were introduced, allowing users to view and share photos from a desktop.


2014:


- Instagram reached 200 million active users.

- Instagram introduced ads, allowing businesses to promote their products.


2015:


- Instagram introduced Instagram Direct, allowing users to send private messages.

- Instagram reached 400 million active users.


2016:
